Shaping Weights, Fiberglass Tips
Worked on shaping the counterweights and fitting the fiberglass tips. Not sold that I want to be working on this, but don’t have much of an option. Very hesitant in making a plan and moving forward.

Elevator fits!
Got the skins trimmed and the elevator attached. The elevator moves through the entire range of motion!! Need to plan what to do next! Waiting on wings. Maybe firewall??

Big problems…
Got all parts down and unwrapped only to find the elevators DON’T FIT! Spent a hour or more trying to figure out where it went wrong. Turns out, skin and tips need trimming, marked only on plan sheet…
Leading Edges
Finished riveting elevator leading edges. Attached rod-end bearings and jam nuts. Small day.
Trim Tab
Trim tab was finished. Uneventful. Piece was measured and attached to elevator. Everything was buttoned up and then… Rolling the edges took hours. I hate it. It is miserable. They didn’t come out how I wanted. But I don’t know that spending more time and energy would fix anything. Likely, it would make it worse. […]
Trim Tab
Trim tab started. Parts clecoed. Tabs on the end bent. (Hard! Looks good!) Hinge created, needs trimming. Almost to prime. Thinking primer pistol? Should have assembled today/tomorrow. [later] Parts primed w/primer pistol. Works well for small batches of parts! East to clead. Will finish up tomorrow. Tonight: read up on finishing the fiberglass tips.
