Let the Fuselage Begin

We’re off and running on the fuselage. Starting with the firewall, I was able to get most of the supports clecoed to the stainless steel firewall. There are formed angles that have a “joggle” in them that I thought were malformed from the appearance versus the online image. Online shows a coordinated “lift” in the end of the piece.

My pieces have what appears to be a bulge out one side and no discernable “lift.” Come to find out, that is how these are formed. Parts line told me “most builders could do better themselves” and “if I could invest in one improved piece of equipment, it would be the one that makes these ‘joggled’ parts.”

After a bit of hammering them into position, I improved the fit a bit. Along with creating some massive brackets from angle, I got everything temporarily assembled.
