Final Prep-Fuselage

The Big Prime. After days of prep (deburring, countersinking, dimpling, scrubbing, etc.) I was finally able to get all the parts in the booth. (Well, half the parts, which were sprayed with two coats, half hour in between, then all parts hung out in the garage while the process was repeated with the second batch.)

The primer doesn’t look like it came out as well as I had hoped. Some areas look light. It all looks a little matte/satin. I think the MEK is affecting the finish. I also think this batch had too much MEK. Here’s where I am at: The fuselage will be assembled with the parts as-is. There’s no sense in trying another coat when I’m still chasing issues with this primer.

If I turn this beast over and don’t like the finish, it’ll get a finish coat of interior paint–after a thorough scrubbing with Scotchbrite, unfortunately.
