Rudder Fiberglass

Well, hopefully I can make shorter work out of the rudder fiberglass. The elevators and stabilizers took way longer than I’d like.

The rudder pieces fit about as well as the others: not great. The vertical stabilizer tip doesn’t have a great line that flows into the rudder. It sits low and droops. I see others have had this same issues, and have either left it (ugh) tipped the piece forward (again, not ideal), filled it, or done some combination therein.

I’ll plan on splitting the different a few way, tipping it ever-so-slightly forward, adding some filler, and seeing if some small adjustments to the rudder could be had.

Below is the vertical stabilizer tip already getting the fiberglass “bulkhead” that finishes it off. Only one layer of glass this time, and then reinforcement from behind. This will prevent the slowly narrowing gap that I had on the other tail pieces.
