Flap Sensor Installed

I punched two holes in the 704 support tunnel–the upright that comprises the back of the flap mechanism housing. I wish, now, I hadn’t. I should have waited to find a way to mount this sensor blindly, that is without fasteners visible from the backside.

That said, there’s visible fasteners (including rivets) everywhere, so it’s not like it’s a huge deal. Still, I wish I wouldn’t have done it differently.

The sensor is driven by an Adel clamp hooked around the flap weldment secured at a location on the upright that allows me to take advantage of most of the throw of the sensor. I used some hobby linkage and clevises to make the connection. It works great. Next up will be adding the electronic connector to drive all this.
