Aft Skins!

I wasn’t quite expecting to be here, but here we are.

Fuselage of RV-7A with aft skins completed.

I had a volunteer available, and I’ve been a little aimless as I try to figure out the panel, so we took on the aft skins.

It took about 4 hours from initial rivet training (this volunteer hadn’t helped out on the project yet) to completion of the skins.

Front view, looking back, of aft skins.

Being inside the project while bucking is a truly miserable experience. It’s tight. It’s hot. It’s loud.

But most importantly it’s done.

It really looks like an airplane now. I can’t quit staring at it. Fun stuff, and more fun stuff coming up. This project keep cooking.
