Sill and Gusset Installation

Installing the sills and gussets (cabin… gussets, I guess–not the forward fuselage ones) was a lot of work, but not a lot of stress. Tight areas required the compact tungsten bucking bar (I’m not sure what you’re doing with your life if you don’t have a a few tungsten bucking bars).

After some universal and countersunk, some #3 and #4, some of everything… the pieces were in. The fit was fantastic. Again, much like the skin bend below these, this is an area where I’ve focused a lot of energy and really tried to work out to zero gaps, close tolerances, et cetera.

Installed gusset and sill.

I’m happy here. I can live with these each time I enter and exit the plane. Luckily, because I’m going to have too!
