Starting on the snorkel is a bit daunting. I don’t want to mess this up, yet the fit and engineering here seem like it’s impossible to do “right.” Meaning, the snorkel doesn’t really fit out of the box. You need to modify the starter, many people need to modify the snorkel to fit around the alternator (I may get lucky here, and not have to change much).

Fast forward a bit, and I think I’ve messed up. The alignment of the cowl to the inlet ramp to and the inlet ramp to the snorkel is tough. I may have trimmed too much, too soon. Exactly what I didn’t want to do.
I’m torn, because some of my dimensions work out to look exactly like the plans, and deviation would have had to occur for better alignment. This area is tough, to say the least.
