Well apologies for the jump-to-completion here on the rear spars. I will get better at documents. Luckily, there is plenty of footage of these pieces and video is forthcoming.

The construction was very familiar, and a welcomed return to aircraft building for me. I forgot how much I had missed these processes while on my “break.”
The construction was straight forward, though there are plenty of places to step in it if you aren’t careful. Check the plans carefully. Read the gotchas. Read some posts. Check the plans again, and read the instructions a third time. Here are some of the things that I need to be careful not to forget:
- There are four countersunk rivet holes on the end of the spar. These will get flush rivets and need to be countersunk on the correct side.
- You must dimple the top flange of the spar prior to attaching the thick doubler plates. This one almost got me, and I was force to drill out a few rivets.
- Do not just start adding rivets per the rivet guide. The vast majority will be added later, when additional pieces are added to the spar.
