Now that I’m in the weeds trying to figure out the ancillary components of the engine, I’m realizing how little I know about all of this.
The fuel servo came separate, and I can’t even tell which way it is supposed to align. Images from the cable bracket manufacturer don’t match images from Van’s or other build logs.

The way that seems the most correct creates an incredible amount of slack in a factory-provided hose, making me feel it’s incorrect.
I spent a lot of time calling on professionals and seeing how these items are approached. My setup will likely look different from others, and different from how it was assembled on the factory test stand–hence a disparity in hose length.

Some of Van’s more common linkage has throttle coming in from the pilots side of the servo, and utilizes more complex geometry to link to a throttle arm positioned on the side of the servo.
Turning the servo 90, and switching the arm to the bottom, provides more direct access to the throttle arm and far simpler linkage, though not without drawbacks of its own.
