Today was ELT day.

I had prewired much of the ELT, so this wasn’t an incredibly taxing adventure. Still, between the physical mounting, final wiring, and alteration of panel, this took a couple days.
Testing the ELT proved successful after I remembered to configure the system properly in the G3X–an incredibly easy task.
It’s incredibly important you order this with the proper programing: either 4800 baud NMEA or 9600 baud Aviation Protocol. If you don’t get it right, it may not work with your desired wiring diagram, and may require some revision.
I’ve seen many individuals have to go back to the wiring drawing board, or alternatively pay to have the box reprogrammed. (Reprogramming, it seems, has run folks anywhere from $50 – $400.)
