Aileron Trim

Fresh off of the elevator trim, I felt I could tackle the aileron trim. However, when I first took out the trim package, I noticed that I had a package that showed mounting in the wing. I remembered mentioning the position of the trim in the wing versus the center of the cabin to Scott McDaniels, who shared–at least on the RV7–they should all have it in the center of the cabin.

Long story shory: I saw I had been shipped a package for the RV10/RV14, and had to contact Van’s to get it swapped. They were great to deal with, and I had a new package of hardware on my door in a day. (The beauty of living 20 miles from the factory.)

With the right parts, I was able to get the unit installed. It’s tight, it’s cramped, it’s a pain to get in there. But it’s done.

Crappy photo for proof:
