Panel Fabrication

Back to the avionics panel for a bit. With the final placement now determined for all avionics, I had the stock Van’s panel cut by water jet at a local fabricator.

Cut, final panel with CF stack overlay positioned on top.

Really this should still be at the fabricator, as they still have work to do. But so do I.

Before the panel can be powder coated, I need to match drill a number of holes for avionics mounting, including: G5 flush mount, avionics stack, and throttle bracket holes.

Getting old items out of the plane required some deconstruction with an angle grinder.

The new fabricated pieces are on their way back to the shop for finishing and powder coating.
